AMN / New Delhi
The All India Unani Tibbi Congress (Delhi) organised its 141st Free Unani Medical Camp at Aman Chowk, Mustafabad, New Delhi. The camp was inaugurated by local councillor Mrs Hajjan Sabila Begum, who emphasised that public service should be carried out with honesty and dedication, and that there should be no limits when it comes to serving society. She described the medical camp as a commendable initiative aimed at public welfare and congratulated everyone associated with the programme.
The convener of the programme, Haji Khushnood, and co-convener Dr Nawab expressed gratitude to all volunteers for their support in making the camp successful.
Addressing the inaugural session, senior ophthalmologist from Safdarjung Hospital, Dr Pankaj Ranjan, said that eyes are extremely delicate organs and people should avoid using any eye medication without proper medical advice. He stressed that patients suffering from diabetes must undergo regular eye check-ups, as the risk of vision loss is significantly higher among diabetic patients.
Dr Ranjan also cautioned people to use milk, ghee, oil and paneer judiciously, noting that these products are often adulterated in the market. For better health, he advised consuming seasonal fruits and vegetables.
On the occasion, Secretary General of the All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Dr Syed Ahmad Khan, stated that the primary objective of organising free Unani medical camps is to create awareness about health among the masses. He added that the Unani system of medicine is a time-tested natural treatment method that has been practiced for centuries and therefore deserves further development and promotion.
