Calls for No Compromise on Safety
AMN / NEW DELHI
Union Minister Chirag Paswan has called on food sellers to strictly maintain quality standards, urging them not to compromise on the safety and reliability of products offered to consumers.
Speaking at the Nutri Bharat 2026 in New Delhi, Paswan highlighted the pivotal role of the food processing sector in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat-2047, a long-term development goal championed by Narendra Modi. He noted that the creation of a dedicated ministry for food processing reflects the government’s strong focus on strengthening this sector.
Paswan also emphasized that the government is actively working to bridge the gap between industry stakeholders and policymakers to ensure smoother growth and better coordination.
Pointing to emerging trends, he said the nutraceutical and functional food segments are expanding steadily, driven by innovation and increasing public awareness about health. However, he acknowledged ongoing challenges related to quality control, food safety, and regulatory clarity. He urged all stakeholders to work together to identify necessary reforms, develop effective policies, and implement action plans to address any lapses and uphold high standards across the industry.
