Around 90 lakh 85 thousand farming families in Maharashtra have received financial assistance of approximately 1,817 crore rupees under the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana. State Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne shared this information while participating in a programme through video conferencing from Mumbai.
The minister said the timely release of funds has provided significant support to farmers ahead of the Kharif sowing season. He informed that nearly 41 thousand 83 crore rupees have been disbursed to eligible farming families in Maharashtra through the previous 22 instalments of the scheme.
The latest instalment has been credited directly to the bank accounts of farmers who have completed land record verification, Aadhaar-bank account linkage and the mandatory e-KYC process.
Meanwhile, 20th June was observed as PM Kisan Utsav Diwas across the country. In Maharashtra, the event was organised through the coordinated efforts of the Agriculture Department, Revenue and Forest Department, and Rural Development Department.
