Saudi Arabia and Turkiye have forged a landmark partnership to significantly elevate agricultural, livestock, and water management production capabilities. The memorandum of understanding was officially signed in Riyadh by Saudi Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli and Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli.
According to Arab News, the collaboration focuses on integrating innovative technologies, fostering climate change resilience, advancing organic farming, and improving water resource utilization and pollution monitoring.
Aligning with Saudi Vision 2030, this initiative emphasizes knowledge exchange, sustainable practices, and heightened commercial investment. Complementing the agreement, the Saudi-Turkish Business Council facilitated eight additional corporate deals during a roundtable meeting in Istanbul to strengthen bilateral trade. Bilateral trade reached SR22 billion ($5.86 billion) in 2022, marking a 32.6 percent growth. Turkish officials outlined ambitious economic targets, aiming for a medium-term trade volume of $10 billion and a long-term goal of $30 billion. Furthermore, Turkish contractors have undertaken 400 projects valued at $28 billion in the Kingdom, while approximately 1,400 Saudi businesses have established a presence in Turkiye, underscoring deeply expanding economic ties between the two nations.
