The Government of India has acknowledged a security lapse in the recent terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju said.
Addressing the media after an all-party meeting, Mr. Rijiju stated that the government maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and will take all necessary measures to eliminate it.
He also noted that all opposition parties have extended their full support to the government and assured cooperation with the Centre in addressing the situation.
Mr. Rijiju further emphasized that in recent years, Jammu and Kashmir had shown promising growth in tourism and economic activity. However, this single tragic incident in Pahalgam has left the entire nation in shock and outrage.
