In the Forex market, the rupee today strengthened by 76 paise to close at 84 rupees and 49 paise against the US dollar buoyed by fresh foreign inflows into equities and exporter-driven dollar sales. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 99.37 in intra-day trade.
