— The two-day Media Conference at KES Shroff College, Kandivli, concluded on Saturday with critical conversations on the state of the media and entertainment (M&E) industry. A standout voice was Ramira Taneja, Founder & CEO of RamiiPhy Entertainment, who spoke with candor on the rising imbalance between creators and platforms.
In a session moderated by educationist Prof. Ujjwal K. Chowdhury, Taneja was joined by industry figures including Romil Dhodhiwala (Allied Digital), Gunjan Pai (Copy Love), Prof. Ambrish Saxena (South Asian University), Chinmay Bhave (BITS Design), and Praveen Nagda, film festival director.

Addressing the theme “Hybrid Workflow in Media Industries: Efficiency and Exploitation,” Taneja underlined how platforms increasingly transfer risks onto creators. “The financial burden lies entirely on producers, who must fund and release projects before platforms even decide their price. They often demand complete control over IP, leaving creators with little ownership. With OTT returns uncertain and AI further diluting IP value, sustainability is under threat,” she warned.
Offering remedies, Taneja urged emerging filmmakers to build collaborative models — from community-driven networks and equity-based partnerships to crowdfunding avenues that distribute financial risk.
Reflecting on the event, she praised KES Shroff College’s efforts: “Discussing pressing industry concerns while guiding upcoming talent was enriching. Congratulations to Principal Lily Bhushan and Vidhi Rajora for curating such a platform.”
With her incisive commentary and forward-looking approach, Ramira Taneja has further cemented her reputation as a rising thought leader shaping the future of India’s M&E sector.
