All India Institute of Ayurveda organized a grand program to commemorate the 10th edition of International Day of Yoga, 2024. The theme of this program was Yoga for Women Empowerment.
The chief guest of the event, renowned motivational speaker Sister BK Shivani, addressed the gathering and appreciated the role of AIIA in the present era in the context of systematically expanding its services to the society in respect of Ayurveda and its allied sciences. He said that today’s youth should understand the importance of perseverance and yoga to bring about change for the betterment of humanity. He stressed that practice of Yoga helps a person with a peaceful mind to take a better decision for the welfare of society. He stressed that women empowerment is very important for the all-round development of all. He said that in any development, a consistent process should be followed like in a hospital. The infrastructure faculty and their human resource development play an important role in its development.
Talking about the importance of the infrastructure of the institute in her inaugural address AIIA Director Prof; Dr. Tanuja Nesari requested everyone to celebrate this Yoga Day for women empowerment guidance and strengthening of mind spirit and spirits. Following the Ayurvedic way of living helps in uniting one’s inner self and with the outer world. He emphasized that Ayurveda and Yoga are two sides of the same coin. In this perspective he explained that Ayurveda is the physical aspect of Yoga and Yoga is the spiritual aspect of Ayurveda. He urged everyone to not only teach but also practice both Yoga and Ayurveda.
Ms. Bhavana Saxena, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, appreciated the various performances done by the students of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga on the occasion, which included the live performance of Yoga Fusion programme. She said that women empowerment is a holistic concept which includes economic as well as spiritual empowerment.
AIIA launches a booklet on therapeutic yoga as part of International Yoga Day celebrations. Consists of a one-day simple yoga protocol which will be demonstrated by AIIA scholars at various prestigious locations in Delhi. In this, Ayur-Yoga will be promoted on international borders with the help of ITBP. Health camps and distribution of health kits, yoga awareness programs will be organized in old age homes and hospital blocks of AIIA by ITBP officers and AYUSH institutes in North East India.
After this program Y Break and Yoga Fusion were organized. On this occasion, senior officials of the Ministry of AYUSH and Director of Morarji Desai National Yoga Institute, Vaidya Dr. Kashinath Samagandiya, Padma Shri award winners Kamalini Asthana and Nalini Asthana were present. Dean, senior faculty members and members of AIIA were also present on the occasion.
