Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to embark on a strategic diplomatic and commercial tour of Spain, Belgium, and Finland, beginning tomorrow and continuing through July 17. The mission aims to fortify India’s economic footprint in Europe, with a core focus on deepening collaboration in technology, investment, and sustainable infrastructure.
Strategic Itinerary Highlights
Spain (July 13): The tour opens in Madrid, where Minister Goyal will lead a high-level business roundtable. Key industry stakeholders—including the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, CEOE, and ICEX—will convene to identify growth synergies in high-potential sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and automotive manufacturing.
Belgium (July 14–15): The visit pivots to Brussels, a central hub for EU-India policy discourse. The agenda includes high-level engagements with corporate leaders from the Thales Group and Silox Group. A centerpiece of this leg is the India-EU Business Roundtable and the Trade and Technology Council Plenary, where discussions will prioritize supply chain resilience and the integration of sustainable technologies.
Finland (July 16–17): The final leg focuses on innovation and advanced manufacturing. Mr. Goyal is scheduled to visit prominent Finnish entities including Nokia, Kone, Kemppi Group, and the VTT Research Centre. The objective is to foster R&D partnerships in telecommunications, clean energy transition, and advanced mobility solutions.
