India, Australia, and Canada announced a new trilateral technology and innovation framework – the Australia-Canada-India Technology and Innovation (ACITI) Partnership. The agreement was made on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg.
Under the agreement, the three countries will enhance cooperation on critical and emerging technologies, complementing existing bilateral initiatives. The partnership will leverage the natural strengths of each nation, with a strong focus on green energy innovation and resilient supply chains, particularly in critical minerals.
ACITI aims to advance shared goals on the path to net-zero emissions, support diversification of global supply chains, and promote a secure, sustainable, and resilient technological ecosystem. The three sides will also explore ways to accelerate the development and mass adoption of artificial intelligence to improve the lives of their citizens.
Officials from the three countries will convene in the first quarter of 2026 to take the initiative forward.
