Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi, hosted a vibrant Inter-College Dance Competition from October 13 to 15, 2025.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries and guests, including Mr Anoop Lather, Chairperson, Steering Committee, Culture Council, University of Delhi, who served as the Chief Guest of the event.
The Guests of Honour included Prof. Ravi Prakash Tekchandani, Head, Department of Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi and Prof. Ravinder Kumar, Dean, Culture Council, University of Delhi. The occasion also witnessed the presence of Mr. Shubhendu Bhardwaj, Mr. Osho Kalia, Dr. Hemant Verma, Dr. Vijay Mishra, Dr. Rigzin Kang and Prof. Paramjit.
The judging panel comprised of Dr. Neera Sharma, Ms. Kanika Singh and Mr. Kuleshwar Kumar Thakur.The ceremony began with the felicitation of the dignitaries and guests, acknowledging their presence and support. Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Principal, Mata Sundri College for Women, addressed the audience and extended her congratulations to the Culture Council for their dynamism and community spirit. She observed that dance is not just physical movement but a soulful expression of creativity and joy. The dignitaries also shared their reflections on how creativity and performance can connect people, spark inspiration, and celebrate the essence of expression. This was followed by prize distribution where Mata Sundri College won first prize both in Choreography and Folk Dance categories.
The three-day cultural celebration was marked by exuberant enthusiasm and artistic brilliance, bringing together talented and diverse participants from colleges across Delhi-NCR. The event began with a soulful prayer, setting a serene tone for the celebrations. The first day showcased energetic group choreography performances filled with rhythm and precision. There were nine choreography performances.
The second day featured twenty nine expressive classical solo dance performances that highlighted grace and emotion. The final day concluded with eighteen colourful folk dances, celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, bringing to a close three days of spirited performances, camaraderie, and artistic excellence that will be remembered fondly by all.
