Aditya Thackeray, MLA from the Worli Assembly constituency, attended a Mega Job Fair in Mumbai on Saturday and praised the initiative aimed at connecting young job seekers with employment opportunities. The event, organised by the Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) in collaboration with Saarth Pratisthan, was held at N. M. Joshi Municipal School in Lower Parel.
The job fair drew strong participation from both employers and job aspirants, with more than 60 companies from sectors such as retail, BFSI, logistics, customer service, administration and technical services taking part.
Organisers said over 400 interviews were conducted during the event. As many as 26 candidates were selected or shortlisted on the spot, while several others were invited to participate in further rounds of interviews with participating companies.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Thackeray highlighted the importance of employment and skill development for young people and commended the organisers for creating a platform that directly connects industry with job seekers.
“Employment and skill development are among the most critical needs of our youth today. Initiatives like this job fair create direct bridges between industry and job seekers,” he said, adding that efforts by AMP and Saarth Pratisthan would help benefit youth from across communities.
Other distinguished attendees included Mr. Aamir Edresy, President – Association of Muslim
Professionals (AMP); Hon. Sunil Shinde, MLA – Legislative Council; Hon. Sachin Ahir, MLA – Legislative
Council; and Shiv Sena Leader of the Opposition in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and
former Mayor Mrs. Kishoritai Pednekar.
Mr. Aamir Edresy, President of AMP, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing
unemployment:
“AMP has been organising Job Fairs across the country to bridge the gap between deserving candidates
and employers. When institutions, social organisations and public representatives come together, we can
create meaningful opportunities for our youth and strengthen society as a whole.”
The event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Mr. Nitin Shirodkar, Yuva Sena Leader
and Shakha Pramukh, whose energetic team worked closely with AMP to ensure smooth organisation
and outreach.
The Mega Job Fair was open to candidates from all communities, reflecting the organisers’ shared
vision of inclusive growth and equal opportunity.
The event once again demonstrated how collaboration between social organisations, industry and
public leadership can create real pathways to employment and empowerment for the youth of
Mumbai.
