Government has said that over 15 crore households have been provided tap water connection under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Replying to supplementaries during the Question Hour in Lok Sabha, Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil said, the work is underway to provide clean drinking water to four crore more households. He said, the Jal Jeevan Mission, which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019, is an important project to provide tap water connections to every household. The Minister added that the Central government provides 90 per cent funds to Himalayan and North-Eastern states to implement the scheme.
Responding to the queries of some members about the other schemes related to water projects, the Minister informed that around 38 thousand rupees has been sanctioned.
