Rupee appreciates by 39 paise to close at 86.95 against US dollar

In the Forex market, the rupee today appreciated by 39 paise to close at 86 rupees and 95 paise against the US dollar. The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was trading at 97.98 in intra-day trade.
