Naidu calls on Singapore PM, discusses new opportunities for partnership

Seeking to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s global investment profile and accelerate its transition into a technology-led economy, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a series of high-level meetings in Singapore focused on expanding cooperation in advanced industries, urban development and sustainable growth. During discussions with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the Andhra Pradesh delegation explored opportunities across semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, research and development, logistics and advanced manufacturing while presenting the state’s long-term vision for transforming Amaravati into a globally competitive capital city.
The visit also broadened the dialogue beyond technology and infrastructure, with both sides identifying opportunities in clean energy, green hydrogen, food exports, healthcare and sustainable agriculture. Naidu used the engagements to invite Singapore’s public and private sector institutions to participate in Andhra Pradesh’s next phase of economic and urban expansion.
Following the meeting, Naidu said discussions covered a broad agenda including semiconductor manufacturing, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, research and development, university partnerships, urban governance, leadership development, logistics and advanced manufacturing. He also outlined the state government’s progress in developing Amaravati as a globally benchmarked capital city supported by modern infrastructure and institutions.
According to Naidu, the Singapore Prime Minister welcomed Andhra Pradesh’s long-term vision and acknowledged the progress made toward building Amaravati’s urban ecosystem.
The leaders additionally reviewed opportunities for cooperation in agriculture and sustainability-oriented sectors, including natural farming, aquaculture, food exports, healthcare, clean energy, green hydrogen and green ammonia. Naidu invited Singapore’s government-linked enterprises and business leaders to participate in Amaravati’s expansion and contribute to investment-led growth and innovation.
During his visit, Naidu also met Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan. Their talks focused on improving connectivity between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh through expanded air services, airport development and stronger economic linkages. Discussions also covered digital infrastructure, undersea internet connectivity, data centre ecosystems and opportunities in the commercial space sector.
Separately, Naidu held talks with Anaclaudia Rossbach to discuss sustainable urban development and climate-resilient cities. Both sides explored collaboration to advance Amaravati as a net-zero, knowledge-driven city and a potential global model for inclusive and sustainable urban transformation.
Naidu Urges AP Industry Leaders in Singapore to Promote State’s Global Investment Potential
Singapore: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met members of the Andhra Pradesh business delegation associated with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Singapore and called on industry leaders to actively promote the state’s business-friendly ecosystem internationally.
Addressing the delegation, Naidu encouraged industrialists to become ambassadors for Andhra Pradesh’s investment opportunities and help attract technology, innovation and global business partnerships to the state. He urged entrepreneurs to bring advanced industrial practices and international collaborations to support economic growth.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has policy support across sectors ranging from food processing to semiconductor manufacturing and invited businesses to establish new projects in the state, including through partnerships with overseas companies.
Several entrepreneurs and industrial representatives from Andhra Pradesh participated in the interaction, which focused on expanding investment and strengthening the state’s position as an emerging industrial and technology destination.
