Tarique, who is also chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and senior leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during the five-day visit.

The Prime Minister will also attend a climate-related conference and participate in an investment summit aimed at boosting economic cooperation between the two countries.

As part of his itinerary, Tarique is expected to meet representatives of major Chinese multinational companies, including Chery, Honda and Chinatex, to explore trade, investment and industrial collaboration opportunities.

He is also scheduled to visit the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where meetings with top Chinese leaders are expected to take place. Formal talks with President Xi are slated for the following day.

Officials in Dhaka view the visit as a significant step towards strengthening Bangladesh-China relations and expanding cooperation across economic, political and strategic sectors.
