Prime Minister Narendra Modi today projected India as a global hub of innovation and technology while addressing the VivaTech 2026 Summit in Paris.
The Prime Minister said that in the last decade, India has been going through a transformation that is powered by technology. He said India is using technology at a massive scale for financial inclusion, education, telemedicine, agriculture and more. Mr Modi said India has created the world’s largest digital identity system and the world’s largest digital payments platform.
The Prime Minister said technology can lead to progress only when it is democratised. He said India believes that in this era of disruption, technology must deliver for all. He also urged global innovators to work with India and “deliver for all.
He also held meetings with leading French business leaders to deepen economic and technological cooperation between the two countries.
Addressing the VivaTech summit in Paris today, the Prime Minister said technology must deliver for all and highlighted India’s rapid digital transformation in areas such as financial inclusion, education, healthcare and agriculture. He noted that UPI now powers nearly half of the world’s real-time digital transactions and is available in France.
Earlier in the morning, Mr Modi met top French CEOs. Saint-Gobain, Mistral AI and CMA CGM leaders expressed confidence in India’s growth prospects and announced plans for greater investments and collaboration in manufacturing, artificial intelligence and green shipping. The Prime Minister is now attending a grand cultural programme, “Bonjour Modi”, organised by the Indian community at the Salle Pleyel Centre in Paris.
