The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its 2025-26 report on listed private non-government non-financial (NGNF) companies, revealing a strong 10.1% surge in sales. Analyzing 4,278 companies, the report highlights a return to double-digit growth after a two-year lull.

The operative and performance details show:

  • Manufacturing Surge: Sales accelerated sharply to 10.8% (up from 6.0% last year), led by automobiles, electrical machinery, food and beverages, and chemicals. Conversely, the petroleum sector saw a decline.
  • Steady Services: IT sales nudged up to 7.9% (from 7.1%), while non-IT services maintained double-digit momentum via robust wholesale and retail trade.
  • Profitability Cushion: Despite a 12% rise in raw material costs, manufacturing operating profit growth jumped to 10.3% (from 6.0%). IT profits grew by 10.7%, while non-IT services profits slowed to 7.1%.
