The National Stock Exchange (NSE), under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), organised a Regional Investor Seminar for Awareness (RISA) at Power Finance Corporation Ltd. (PFC) in New Delhi to promote financial literacy and encourage informed investment decisions among investors.

Addressing the seminar as the Chief Guest, K.V.R. Murty, Whole Time Member, SEBI, stressed the importance of conducting proper due diligence before making investment decisions. He urged investors to deal only with SEBI-registered intermediaries and remain vigilant against fraudulent investment schemes and financial scams.

Vijayant Verma, Regional Director (Northern Regional Office), SEBI, highlighted the advantages of long-term investing and outlined the regulator’s initiatives to strengthen investor protection and market transparency.

The seminar was attended by senior officials from Power Finance Corporation, including Rajesh Kumar Shahi, Executive Director; V. Packirisamy, Director (Commercial); and Manish Kumar Agarwal, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer.

Officials from the NSE conducted interactive sessions covering key aspects of financial planning, behavioural finance, and retirement planning. The programme also featured an investor awareness quiz aimed at enhancing participants’ understanding of financial markets and responsible investing.

The seminar forms part of SEBI and NSE’s ongoing efforts to improve financial literacy and create greater awareness about safe investment practices across the country.
