The Income Tax Department has collected over 7,73,000 crore as direct tax for the financial year 2026-27 so far. It is 16.11 percent higher growth as compared to financial year 2025-2026 during the same period. The collection includes corporate tax of over three lakh 35 thousand crore rupees and a non-corporate tax of four lakh 11 thousand crore rupees.
The department has also issued refunds of over 1,22,000 crore rupees. The net direct tax collection has recorded a significant growth of over 16 per cent amounting to more than 6,51,000 crore rupees.
