Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that India’s healthcare sector has witnessed a transformative change over the past decade under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a strong focus on ensuring accessible and affordable healthcare for all citizens.

In a social media post today, Gadkari said that the government’s flagship healthcare initiatives have significantly strengthened the country’s health infrastructure and advanced the vision of a Swasth Bharat.

The Minister highlighted that the Ayushman Bharat scheme has provided cashless health coverage to millions of beneficiaries across the country and has now been extended to senior citizens as well. Mr. Gadkari also noted that Jan Aushadhi Kendras have made quality medicines available at affordable prices, helping reduce out-of-pocket healthcare expenditure for people.

He said that digital healthcare platforms such as e-Sanjeevani have expanded access to medical consultations, while the Swachh Bharat Mission has contributed to preventive healthcare by promoting cleanliness and sanitation. The Minister said these initiatives are helping build a holistic and inclusive healthcare ecosystem, ensuring that quality health services reach every section of society.
