India and the Netherlands have agreed to deepen cooperation in cybersecurity, with discussions focusing on emerging cyber threats, protection of critical infrastructure, cybercrime response and governance frameworks for rapidly evolving digital technologies.
At the Fourth India–Netherlands Cyber Dialogue held in New Delhi, both sides exchanged views on the changing global cyber threat environment and reviewed national approaches on cybersecurity policy, data protection and cross-border cybercrime enforcement.
The dialogue was co-chaired by Joint Secretary for Cyber Diplomacy in the Ministry of External Affairs Amit A. Shukla and the Netherlands’ Ambassador-at-Large for Cyber Affairs Ernst Noorman.
A key focus of the discussions was strengthening coordination in multilateral platforms, including ongoing deliberations at the United Nations on cyber governance, implementation of the UN Convention against Cybercrime and emerging frameworks for Artificial Intelligence (AI) governance.
Both countries also agreed to advance bilateral engagement through capacity-building programmes, training initiatives and enhanced institutional cooperation in cyber affairs. Particular emphasis was placed on safeguarding critical information infrastructure and addressing vulnerabilities across digital supply chains.
The dialogue further carried forward cooperation in cyber and digital technologies under the India–Netherlands Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026–2030, released during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Netherlands last month, reflecting the growing strategic importance of digital and cyber collaboration in bilateral relations.
