In a major boost to Bihar’s industrialisation and infrastructure ambitions, JK Cement Ltd. on Saturday commissioned its state-of-the-art 3 MTPA grey cement grinding unit in Buxar. The project, seen as a strategic step toward accelerating manufacturing growth in the state, was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The ceremony was attended by Industries and Road Construction Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal and senior company officials.

Spread over 100 acres along the Patna–Buxar highway, the ₹500-crore facility is expected to significantly enhance cement supply across Bihar and adjoining regions. Construction of the plant began in March 2025, and its commissioning marks a key milestone in strengthening local manufacturing capacity. The unit will cater to rising demand from infrastructure, housing, and commercial projects, while also generating direct and indirect employment in the region.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the investment reflects growing industrial confidence in Bihar. He emphasized that such large-scale projects contribute not only to job creation but also to the development of ancillary industries and improved infrastructure.

Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director of JK Cement, described the Buxar plant as a long-term commitment to Bihar’s development journey. He said the facility would enable faster deliveries, improved service efficiency, and stronger engagement with local markets.

Joint Managing Director and CEO Madhavkrishna Singhania noted that Bihar remains a high-potential market with strong infrastructure momentum. He added that localized production would enhance service responsiveness while supporting sustainable growth.

With a total grey cement capacity of 31.26 MTPA and white cement capacity of 3.05 MTPA, JK Cement continues to expand its footprint across India and global markets.
