Members of the Kayamkhani community across Rajasthan observed the 607th martyrdom anniversary of Dada Nawab Kayam Khan with religious gatherings, tribute ceremonies, honouring of achievers, and community welfare programmes.

According to community history, Karamchand Chauhan, son of Moterao Chauhan of the Rajput Chauhan lineage, along with his two brothers, embraced Islam and their descendants came to be known as the Kayamkhani community. Karamchand later became popularly known as Nawab Kayam Khan, who is regarded as the founding figure and revered ancestor of the community.

To commemorate his martyrdom anniversary, programmes were organised across districts, tehsils, villages and hamlets throughout the state. Community members held Fatiha recitations and prayers for peace, while many households prepared traditional dishes including kheer and churma as part of the observance.

The main event was held at Dadrewa village in Churu district, considered the birthplace of Dada Nawab Kayam Khan, at his memorial site. The programme was organised under the supervision of former minister and Independent MLA Yunus Khan, and witnessed participation by thousands of members of the Kayamkhani community.

During the ceremony, hundreds of individuals from different fields were felicitated for their achievements, while families of martyrs were also honoured in recognition of their contribution and service.

Apart from Dadrewa, events were organised at various Kayamkhani hostels and by social organisations across Rajasthan. Several locations also hosted blood donation camps along with felicitation programmes.

The martyrdom anniversary was observed in districts including Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Didwana, Nagaur, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Tonk, among others.

Community representatives used the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to preserving the Kayamkhani community’s traditions of courage, patriotism and continued participation in the armed forces.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, along with Congress leaders and supporters, also participated in a programme held in Jaipur.

Overall, the Kayamkhani community marked the 607th martyrdom anniversary of Dada Nawab Kayam Khan with enthusiasm across Rajasthan through tribute meetings, honouring of achievers, blood donation initiatives and religious observances, continuing an annual tradition of remembrance and community engagement.
