PadhAI AI developed by IITians cracked UPSC 2024 live on 16th June just after the exam and achieved 170+ out of 200 total within 7 minutes.
On June 16th, PadhAI’s AI system independently took the UPSC preliminary exam 2024.
From start to end, PadhAI AI took under 7 minutes to solve the entire paper.
PadhAI scored 170+ out of 200, typical qualifying marks are under 100.
This score easily places PadhAI’s score in the top 10 nationally, if not rank 1.
This event was conducted in front of distinguished guests from education, UPSC coaching community, and media personnel in The LaLiT, New Delhi.
The event was live-streamed at livestream.padhai.ai and YouTube, where the questions and answers are publicly available.
The objective was to demonstrate that the AI powering PadhAI’s features, is not only a helpful teacher, available 24x7x365 with features like discuss with a book, news summaries, question discussions, and doubt clarification, but is also the smartest aspirant.
PadhAI AI is so proficient that it can independently take the exam and score top marks, proving its reliability as a study companion or teacher for UPSC preparation.
The event flow was kept completely transparent, from livestreaming the scanning of the question paper itself directly from the exam center to solving everything in the open, live, both online and offline.
In fact, the timing of the event itself was chosen to be right after the UPSC Prelims 2024 exam – 11.40am, June 16, 2024 with the first paper finishing at 11.30am. This was done so that the PadhAI AI strength can be shown unbiased by any direct information available online about the exam.
The AI’s answers were also compared with broad AI models commercially available from big tech companies such as OpenAI, Microsoft & Google by using answer keys released by top coaching institutes.
This is the first such event, not just for UPSC in India, but for any exam in the world, that an AI tool’s capability to take an actual exam and ace it, is showcased live in a public setting.
