Speaking at the 10th Convocation of the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in New Delhi today, Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda reiterated the government’s commitment to building solid healthcare infrastructure alongside skilled medical manpower.
Highlighting a massive expansion in medical training since 2014, Mr. Nadda noted that India’s medical colleges have grown from 387 to 818, with undergraduate medical seats more than doubling to exceed 1,20,000. The Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for driving this growth and urged the graduating medical students to blend professional excellence with compassion as they enter the healthcare workforce.
