Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal today chaired the 42nd meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) with an objective of making the planned, coordinated, and balanced development of the National Capital Region (NCR).
In a social media post, the Minister said that the meeting followed discussions on improving regional transportation and connectivity facilities such as accelerating the implementation of development projects and various other important matters related to the NCR. During the meeting, extensive discussions on strengthening institutional coordination between Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan took place.
On the occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said all the concerned states must work jointly to provide adequate and quality services to people across the NCR, ensuring balanced development and an improved quality of life for citizens. Reiterating the government’s commitment to increasing green cover across the NCR, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said large-scale plantation drives and greenery enhancement programmes should continue on a sustained basis to help control pollution and ensure a healthy environment. She also stressed the need to work closely with environmental organisations, experts and other stakeholders so that the NCR can become a cleaner, greener and environmentally balanced region.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and senior representatives from Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan also attended the meeting.
