To mark International Yoga Day 2026, the Yogoda Satsang Society of India (YSS) organized a special spiritual program at its Ranchi Ashram on Sunday, June 14, featuring a discourse on “The experience of peace by meditation yoga” by senior sannyasi Swami Ishwarananda Giri. The 90-minute event was broadcast live to YSS centers, educational institutions, and corporate groups globally, drawing around 25,000 participants both online and in person. Attendees engaged in practical spiritual practices for inner peace and balanced living, including bhajans, guided meditation, and creative visualization.

During the discourse, Swami Ishwarananda emphasized that yoga is a complete science that harmoniously develops the body, mind, and spirit, referencing the Kriya Yoga teachings of YSS founder Paramahansa Yogananda. He highlighted that regular meditation builds an unshakeable inner calm that allows individuals to remain focused amidst life’s challenges. The event concluded with basic meditation practice and information on the YSS home-study lessons, which continue to spread Yogananda’s scientific meditation techniques across India and neighboring countries.

At the conclusion of the program, the participants were informed about the YSS Lessons given by Paramhansa Yoganandji. Through these home-study lessons, seekers can study the scientific methods of meditation and the principles of spiritual life by staying at home.

The Yogda Satsang Society of India (YSS) was founded by Paramhansa Yogananda in 1917. His world-famous book ‘Yogi Kathamrit’ has inspired millions of people around the world. YSS is spreading the teachings of meditation and balanced living in India and neighbouring countries through ashrams, meditation centres and spiritual programmes.
