Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi today said that India has achieved a record food grain production in the 2025-26 crop year, with rice and wheat output reaching historic highs. In a social media post, Mr Joshi said, this achievement strengthens India’s food security, empowers the country’s farmers and reinforces the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat. He said that India’s farmers continue to power the nation’s progress with their dedication and resilience. He noted that the record production reflects the strength of our agricultural sector and the transformative impact of farmer-centric initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
